Skateboard Style – The Woodlands and Spring Senior Photographer

It’s always amazing when my seniors bring along something unique or interesting to photograph, like their sports gear or fave books. But this senior took it up a level with some action style shots on his skateboard, which was so much fun I was sad when the sun started to set and we had to call it a wrap! I encourage all my seniors to personalize their shoots like this please, so much fun!

(Is it just me, or does this shot have some Bob Dylan vibes???)

All Natural Outdoor Senior Sessions – The Woodlands Photographer

This lovely senior just needed the perfect location as a backdrop to let personality shine, a simple natural environment to showcase her natural beauty. So we chose a field location for this senior to let her (long and gorgeous!) hair down. The greenery matches the tone of her outfits perfectly, and infuses her senior portraits with a fresh, down to earth vibe.

Not only does she charm everyone around her, but this little kitten was enamoured as well and couldn’t stop asking for cuddles! Kitty was so cute we just had to include her in a few shots!

Senior Style – The Woodlands Senior Boys Mini Session

When it comes to senior photoshoots, boys and girls tend to favor different types of locations.  A large park or a more urban style location is often preferred by the boys as opposed to a field of flowers, since it’s simpler and has more steps for sitting on, which is more comfortable with their posing style.

This senior session is a perfect example of a how the darker, moodier shadows you get from a park with tall trees and darker backdrops make for a great location for a senior boy portrait session.

The Perfect Mini Sessions for Senior Boys – The Woodlands Senior Photographer

When it comes to senior portraits, what the guys want and need is very different from what the girls want and need, as far as overall time invested in the senior photoshoot. Most seniors and parents are looking for a smaller collection of portraits for use in yearbooks, graduation announcements, and to share with friends and family.  They’re not looking for a two hour production, but something a little more toned down and efficient.

This is why I have a special mini shoot designed just for them. Up to an hour in length, with a collection of amazing photos for your graduation cards and announcements, that still allows enough time to personalize your session with any props or outfit changes.

Where to take your senior pictures is a big consideration when discuss the details of your senior session, and it depends on your personality type. Many girls choose a gorgeous sunlit field of flowers, or a charming country location with natural elements like bridges and wooden fences. But I find that guys want something a little more edgy – without the flowers, the wheat field, or wood cabins. A urban location is perfect for a guy’s senior session! It’s contemporary and colourful, and you get a wide variety of shots filled with texture. This is a favourite spot for photographing senior photos with a modern edge.
