I’m Shannon, owner/photographer at Shannon Stroubakis Photography, serving northern Spring, Montgomery County and The Woodlands, Texas.

Born and raised in Canada, I traveled the world with my camera for ten years and met my Greek American husband while living in South Korea. Together we moved around the world together. When we transferred to the Spring/Woodlands area in 2007  we  fell in love with it here. After a brief stint in Greece, my husband and I  were overjoyed to move back in 2011.

Photography has been with me since I was 13 years old. I’m fascinated by light, and using light and shadows to tell stories and evoke emotion is the philosophy behind my portraiture. I began with my grandfather’s old film camera and studied black and white photography, immersing myself in the darkroom and finding inspiration in the shapes and textures of nature.

My vision for personal portraits for clients is to utilize  the beauty of the environment, using all natural light.  I enjoy being outdoors and my work shows warmth and richness in my colour images. I still enjoy black and white photography, and seek contrast for photographs with dimension and depth. I like to capture my subjects in quiet moments, as well as in moments of joy and laughter.
